Ecotricity has earned its new status by pledging that the land they use and own is managed in a way that promotes bee habitats and therefore maintains biodiversity. The first project that Ecotricity will embark on is turning its Fen Farm Sun Park into a bee haven. Work will start this autumn with the planting of a native wildflower mix seed with a focus on pollen and nectar to create a high-value habitat that encourages bees and other pollinating insects, small mammals and birds. The site’s wildflowers and nesting sites will then be maintained over the sunpark's 25 year lifetime. Ecotricity is also committed to educating its customers and staff in how to become Bee Guardians and why it is so important to do so.
This is an ongoing project. To keep updated on future developments visit our Facebook Fan Page or sign up for our newsletter.
