The Bee Inspired: Gloucester Bee Guardians is now ended.
In the last few months we have been busy bees providing lots of free Bee Guardian Activities to the city of Gloucester. Bee house making for solitary bees, flower making, Bee walks, wildflowers planting and educative talks. These events are taking place to transform the city of Gloucester into an urban bee paradise, and the World's First Bee Guardian City!

We have forged a fantastic relationship with the City Council , Enterprise and the people of Gloucester and we are working together to improve the forage resources for bees and pollinators across the city.

- Thanks to
Enterprise we have managed to change 10,000 msq of bedding plants (often bred to last longer and not provide forage for bees) into perennial bee friendly herbaceous plants with temporary wildflower meadow planting over the summer.

-As well as working with Schools and community groups around the city, we have engaged with over 10,000 people from Gloucester and we have created around 2000 Bee Guardians who were provided with Bee Houses for cavity nesting bees, Bee Identification Charts and pack of native wildflowers seeds for bees.

- Thanks to the help of the
County Council we were given an empty shop in the busiest part of the city centre. The empty shop was a hive of activity, publicising local groups and projects active in the area and welcoming all passers by to walk in, learn about bees and make bee-houses and plant bee friendly plants.
