Home > What we do > Bee Guardian Status > Bee Guardian City > Why Bee Guardian cities?
Cities are really important for bees. Parks, gardens and "wasteland" can be great places for them to make nests and find the pollen and nectar that they need. Cities have lots of people and organisations - so there are lots of potential Bee Guardians! The problem is that it's easy to feel disconnected from the natural world when you live in a city. We aim to inspire an interest in nature by focusing on how people can improve their urban environment for bees. We hope that this leads to a greater understanding and appreciation of pollination, food production, insects and biodiversity in general.
